Functional? [Oct. 7th, 2012|10:35 am]

Testing the retesting buzz. Actually deciding whether I should delete an app. This app. The LJ app.

999 [Oct. 13th, 2010|10:27 am]

You wander down the dank corridor, having to crouch at one point to walk under a low arch. On the other side you find a longer corridor, this time with a number of slimy looking passages twisting off it. Choosing one at random, you follow it to find that it too finishes at a low, dripping arch, which you cautiously go through.

On the other side, you’re caught by surprise as your torch illuminates a RAGGED CLOTHED SKELETON sprawled on the ground, looking up at you with a crazed grin. Clutching your sword, you slowly approach the wretched beast, but it is clearly long dead. One bony finger points at the wall behind him, where someone has written in blood: ‘Here again.’ A fading tally beneath it has reached the hundreds before the blood becomes too faint to read.

You slump to the floor. What if this is the legendary Never-ending Maze? Perhaps you will be here forever! For a moment you despair, fearing that you will never find a way out. But then you come to your senses – it hasn’t been too long since you were here, all you need to do is retrace your steps. With high hopes you stand and set off down a corridor behind you. Turn to 999.

Drinks [Jan. 6th, 2010|05:26 pm]
It's my birthday this week, and although I'm not celebrating it in any big way, it would be lovely to see anyone who would like to come out for a drink on Saturday.

My thoughts were to meet in the Bree Louise near Euston station, which allows children, from around 2pm. I daresay I'll still be trying to hang around there as evening descends too, and sources tell me there's also a pop-dancing club nearby, which sounds like good fun.

Hope to see you there!

Ah, wait, hang on, I've got this [Jun. 21st, 2009|10:31 am]

I think this will ping my account. There's a greatly reduced lj app for the iPhone which I'm hoping will at least allow me to shout into the void, even if you need to head over to Safari to look around in it with some kind of a torch. Here goes.

Boo! [Sep. 26th, 2006|01:15 am]
Bet you're suprised to see me. I may well be in space (or rather, the space between European countries) on Wednesday. But if not, I shall be either:

- Looking up plants of the Birthwort family for a SPECIAL PROJECT (FT readers may find out about this)

- Trying to talk someone quite under-qualified from entering an Amateur Wrestling competition, even though it would mean him meeting a quite famous man called Darrien Sanders.

- Attending DiggerdeDrinks with some of You Lot!

I am 100000* [Jan. 5th, 2006|11:20 pm]
*in binary

On Saturday, it is my BIRTHDAY! I am spending the day doing various birthdayish things, but will be ending up in The Red Lion, Kingly Street:

which is sort of parallel to Regent Street. If you happen to be in town nearby on Saturday evening, from about 8:30pm onwards, then do come along!

History [Dec. 11th, 2005|10:59 am]
[mood |contemplativecontemplative]
[music |Wuthering Heights, after JSN by Grange Hill became too much]

Sunday malaise brought internet wanderings, and within them the Wayback Machine to look at something long passed. The subtle cogs in the machine: links that take you to that same moment in history in other sites - this is more than a television programme repeated for nostalgia - this is reliving the choices, albeit trivial, that once were not made half a decade ago.

But I got so lost in the past and forgot I was there. The internet, the blogospere in particular, is remarkably unchanged - only such clues as the word 'epinions' let you know that its all wrong, that there's no point in emailing the author of an interesting piece, because even if their address is still active, they will rightly flee in horror at having their archives cyber-sifted. And what were you doing there in the first place?

Gaze upon my hidden life [Nov. 25th, 2005|10:38 am]
Its been a clear out time for all my videos, and it hurts, but only a little.

Plenty have seen a list I've drawn up for the purposes of giving them away. But the list itself is now an important thing in itself to me - I wonder if the collection were in fact a substitute diary - here is the body of television I have built up etc - and so having noted the titles, the videos themselves are discardable.

What's all the fuss about? I was thinking of posting the list here - that would clog up friends pages and so on, though, so I'll add it as a comment.

A bit like a blog then.

carsmilesteve has shown me lesson four in being a good LJer. Here, I hope, is the clickable list:

Did that work?

One day only: LIVE and ONLINE! [Nov. 25th, 2005|10:13 am]
I appear to be at home, trying to reclaim my flat from five years of accumulated buggins. I've been thinking the clearout is nearly done for about a month now, so this should not be read as anything like definitive, but I think I'm nearly done! Now, who wants some stuff?

And shall be on line hinter-mitten-tree.
